During the pandemic, TCSD has engaged the community through safe, self-distanced, and independent projects such as the Parks for Pollinators BioBlitz in September, the fall and winter competition events, and various Instagram photo challenges. The Flamingo Park Rock Garden is our next big community engagement project and we are hoping YOU will help contribute to its development.
What's that you say? You've never heard of Flamingo Park? Let alone it's Rock Garden? You're not alone. Flamingo Park is the slice of open space between the walkway that edges Coyote Creek and 259 Flamingo Road. You may have noticed the picnic tables and trash cans there. TCSD Parks and Rec and its volunteers think it's time to beautify the space. Rocks painted by you (yes you!) are our first step.
To begin with, the painted rocks will be curated in the designated wood chipped section along the concrete flood wall. We hope that this area will eventually expand and develop into a colorful and frequented location for our community. All residents are encouraged to contribute painted rocks as they are able. If rock painting is a new adventure for you, join our Rock Painting zoom session on February 24th to learn the tips and tricks and get creative with your neighbors! Information on the upcoming Rock Painting zoom will be released shortly, look out for the flyer.
